Upon recieving confirmation from the Lord about planting a church in Bessemer, Pastor Mickey knew the location where he would want to start this work. Watermark Place was the location of an outlet mall that had gone out of business some six years before the start of GCB.
In 2014, we turned the former Tommy Hilfiger building into Grace Church Bessemer. Pastor would joke and say that “where you used to get jeans, you could now get Jesus.” We had some great times there with various events that ministered and entertained the community.
In our first two Thanksgiving services, we teamed up with 95.7 Jamz to give out food boxes to those in need. Because of the number of families in our area, we were forced to have two services on that Sunday to minister to the people who attended.
From concerts to seminars, this was a great location for ministry.
But then God started dealing with Pastor to dream bigger. He also wanted to move closer downtown to where he felt our real ministry needed to take place so the prayer and fasting began.
